Being in the healthcare field for nearly two decades, I have continued to find myself passionate about what I could offer my clients. By far I have successfully helped many individuals to understand their medications, having appropriate diabetes management plan in place and to achieve healthy lifestyle goals.
Working in the pharmacy industry, I came across clients from all different backgrounds and cultures which has equipped me with the skills to communicate with anyone. Having the ability to speak other languages eg Mandarin, Malay, Hakka, Cantonese has been very useful to reach out to a more diverse community.
When I was working in a retail pharmacy setting, I quickly realised that the fast-paced environment makes it difficult to spend a lot of time with each client. Hence, I decided to specialise in home medications review. With this qualification, I am able to see clients one-on-one, going through the use of medications and collaborate with doctors to enhance the quality use of medicines for my patients.
From my personal experience with gestational diabetes, it has given me the vision to further my study to become a credentialed diabetes educator. Not long after qualifying, I started to undergo training to become a Life! facilitator for Diabetes Victoria. By combining all my skills, this has enabled me to do what I am truly passionate about which includes helping my clients with medications, diabetes management, weight management, reducing risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
Love how my everyday at work is totally different! Now that you know a little bit about me, look forward to seeing you and thank you for having me as part of your healthcare team provider.
